When the Los Angeles-based folk-pop group Bryndle released its self-titled debut album in 1995, it was the culmination of a two-decade-long dream.
Formed amidst Los Angeles' burgeoning folk-pop scene of the late 1960s, Bryndle was touted as a band with a very solid future. That promise, however, was never realized. Although they were signed by A&M and recorded what should have been their debut album in 1970, only a single, "Woke Up This Morning," was released. Frustrated by the experience, the band separated, with each member striking out on their own. All became highly successful. Karla Bonoff recorded several pop hits and collected a wall-full of gold albums.
